Project 1-2-3: Day 34 - The Birthday Boy

Note: Starting May 1st and continuing for the 123 days leading up to the start of the 2011 college football season, "Project 1-2-3" will share pictures, videos and memorable moments from the last nine years of Special Spectators game day events.

What could be better than going to a Special Spectators game day event? Attending a Special Spectators event on your birthday.

That’s exactly what happened to Turner who was featured earlier in “Project 1-2-3” in “All Access.”

The event started out like any other. First, a pregame tour of the Sooners’ locker room followed by a visit with Head Coach Bob Stoops in his office. After dinner, he entered Memorial Stadium for the start of the game. At halftime, Turner and the other Special Spectators received a standing ovation from 85,000 OU fans. During the postgame celebration back in the Sooners’ locker room, the entire team sang, “Happy Birthday” while a cake was wheeled out for Turner. A cake big enough to share with about a 100 of his new crimson and cream clad friends.
